President Donald Trump “understands” the reality that the war in Ukraine “is lost by Ukraine and the West,” claimed Russian Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov, this week.
Alipov contrasted this perceived understanding with the stance of European nations, whom he accused of continuing their “belligerence” and “unprofessional” belief that Russia could still be defeated.
“The Europeans continue with this belief… There is no chance,” the ambassador stated firmly at an event in Gurugram, dismissing any possibility of a Ukrainian military victory.
The core of Alipov’s argument rests on Russia’s military doctrine. He declared that Russia cannot be defeated in the conflict, citing its nuclear weapons as the ultimate guarantee.
He explicitly warned that Russia’s doctrine permits the use of its nuclear arsenal if it perceives an “existential threat,” a significant statement as the war, funded by billions in Western aid, drags on.
