As India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) begins its probe into a suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad module for the recent Delhi blast, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered strong words of condemnation and support. The Israeli leader reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with condolences for the victims of the attack, which left eight dead.
Netanyahu’s statement was resolute, focusing on the shared resilience of both nations against terrorism. “Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls,” he said. He described India and Israel as “ancient civilisations” whose shared values and “unyielding spirit” make them targets, but also ensure their ultimate victory over darkness.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s message comes as the investigation into the Monday evening blast near the Red Fort intensifies. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) formally handed the probe to the NIA, citing a clear terror angle. The agency has constituted a “dedicated and comprehensive” team to uncover the network behind the attack.
In his message, Netanyahu, speaking also for his wife Sara, conveyed deep sympathies. “To our dear friend Narendra Modi and to the brave people of India… we send our deepest condolences to the families of the victims,” the statement read. “Israel stands strong with you.”
This sentiment was reinforced by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, who also offered heartfelt condolences. “Israel stands with India in its fight against terror,” Saar affirmed, highlighting the strong alignment between the two countries on matters of national security and the fight against extremism.
